Burns Night in Bournemouth

Once again a large party of members of the Province and their ladies, in all some 144 persons, descended on the Cumberland Hotel at Bournemouth for the week-end of January 19th-21st to celebrate the birthday of the Immortal Bard.

On the night yet another haggis fell beneath the flashing blade of John Knox as he stamped his way across the highlands, and another cook narrowly escaped beheading during the ferocious assault.

The President, Roy Bedford, and John Knox saluted each other in the traditional ceremony of the Quaich, peace was restored to the dance floor by the music of "Special Blend", and eventually the evening reached its traditional close.

Sunday morning after breakfast was crisp and bright for those walking on the cliff top to clear their heads while they watched the windsurfers below, and all departed feeling that the organisers, Perfect Weekend, had again lived up to their name.
