About the Order This order was re-constituted in 1865 by a group of notable freemasons at that time, with Sir Eric White being elected the first Grand Sovereign and Grand Imperial Conclave was formed. There is some doubt as to whether the order actually existed before this time. The degrees are thought to have been worked by the Royal Grand Conclave in Scotland with the last recorded conferment of the degree of Red Cross of Constantine in 1857. The order consists of more than one degree, and to each conclave is attached a Commandery, wherein the additional degrees are conferred.
